Why do people in the 21st century stiil eay Meat????!!!!?

Sum fools have been trying to Say otherwise, but Humans are meant to be Herbivores. We have Grinding Jaws (THE most crucial bit of Evidence in the Herbivore debate). Carnivores have Jaws that can only move up and down (Watch a cat Eat!). We have Flat back Molar Teeth which are for grinding Vegetation. Carnivores and Omnivores do not have theese. We have lost our 'hunting' tools through Evolution E.G. Speed Claws Cacnine Teeth have shrunk extensively. The other evidence is that, Humans due to Evolution cannot kill without remorse. There are a few people that can, but the majority (98%) cannot kill Mammals or Watch slaughterhouse footage. When in the presence of slaughter, most (99%) of witnesses Feel or become Physically ill. This is due to Our Evolutionary reflexes. When something is toxic, dangerous or a threat to existence, We instinctively Look awa/Move away/Feel or become ill.

There is NO WAY to be Environmentally concious and Care about global warming if you are a Meat eater. This is due to the Fact that the Gases and waste emitted from the Farming and slaughter of Livestock (I CANNOT stand that term!) is huge. The amount of Land used for Farming for Meat is so vast. Many thousnads of Trees are destroyed to make space for farming land. Also, the 'waste product' from slaughter and Farming is toxic (Stomach acids and decaying matter) to WildLife and Humans. This allows bad bacteria to thrive.

another reason Veganism/Vegetarianism is Good is for Health/Mentall reasons. Red Meat has been proven time and time again to cause agression in Humans, and the Hormonal engineering that goes on in the Meat industry is emmense and causes adverse reactions in Humans. Red and white Meats enduce Heart related problems especially since 'tampering' with the Animals Hormonally and genetically has been in practice. The state of Farming is a breeding ground for disease. That is why Bird flu, BSE and other diseases thrive due to the cramped conditions of Livestock (argh!).

Another thing is that in England the mathods for Slaughter are to stun and stick. This means to electrocute the Animal to render it motionless then slit The Throat. The Animal must still be Alive for the 'sticking' process to work. This is so that the Heart pumps the Blood out of the slash, to empty the Animal as much as possible. It has been documented that 'stunning' is either not done correctly (you DO NOT have to have any qualifications/do any courses to 'stun') and when it is, it is not valid in rendering the Animal Motionless/Senseless.

Birds go to an electrocution Bath. This is a bopiling hot water tank charged with electricity. The Birds are drowned or burnt not electrocuted to death. Many are still Alive when they come to the Head cutter. This goes for the other Animals too, which are still alive when it comes to the boiling process (to make Skin easier to remove).

Pigs, Cows and Sheep, Chickens, Geese and Deer to Name but a Few are all very intelligent Animals. Pigs are very clean (contrary to popular belief) and more intelligent than Dogs. They See the other Members of their Species being killed and Know what is coming. Perhaps not that they will Die, but that it is a negative situation that must be escaped, due to the screams of the Other Animals. When, an Animal tries to attack or get away (Fight or Flight) from situations it does not want to be in, It will run or attack. This is not an option in the Meat industry. If the pens were open none of the Animals waould stay, therefore showing that they are being held against their will. This is very wrong to me.

The Laws in England relating to Slaughter are vague and weak to say the least. The Laws that do exist are extremely flexible because the Meat industry is in violation of about every law

Why do people in the 21st century stiil eay Meat????!!!!?
we eat meat because meat provides a lot of protein and other good stuff, and it tastes great!
Reply:Then why do we have canines ? sharp canines at the front of our teeth whose sole purpose is to tear meat apart?

Why can't the human digestive system digest cellulose (the main component in plant tissue) like animal herbivores can?

People eat meat simply because they need to in order to survive, and also because it tastes good.. Whether they enjoy it or not is not the issue, the fact is that they need the proteins that we simply cannot get from just eating plants alone.

It is the circle of life...humans are at the top of the food chain. If we stopped eating meat it would destroy the natural ecosystem,,. the animals that we used to eat, let's say cows for example, their ppoulation would increase drastically, more population means more grass consumed, therefore depriving other forms of life and eventually they would wipe themselves out anyway simply because the balance is disrupted.
Reply:i love a bit of meat.
Reply:For protein, by the by, this must be the longest questions on here ever, did not read it all myself, only the initial ?.

If you want people to see your point, do not be so long and boring!
Reply:Slaughterhouse footage doesnt disgust us because of evolution, it disgusts us because of a lack of exposure to it over the years.

To answer your question, i eat meat because its soooooooooo yummy.
Reply:Simple answer, I eat meat because I like meat. It has alot of protein which I need and I know all the PETA people and vagans are gonna hate my guts and think I'm cruel, but did it ever occur to you all that maybe that's why God put animals on the earth, to feed man?
Reply:Why do some people proof read their questions before they post them? No idea what eay , or stiil is..I do know eat and still..I still eat meat because it's good.
Reply:I eat it because I like it. As humans we have freedom of choice, and i choose to eat meat. When animals can build homes and provide industry, when they can speak and hold a considered opinion,. then they will be equal to humans.

No doubt I'll get lots of thumbs down from vegetarians for my opinion, but i am sick of people caring more about animals than about their children.

By the way, your question is way too long.
Reply:1) Because we need protien that plants cannot provide

2) We also have canine teeth. We are obviously, OMNIVORES

3) Not everyone thinks like you.

4) Humans cannot chnage their ways as quickly. Look how long it took us to get rid of our "claws" and such. If people all of a sudden decided to change just because of what you have said, it wouldn't work. Evolution takes forever.
Reply:same question can be asked is why you do breath. girl you are full of doody theory. just because teeth are molars behind the teeth doesnt mean there has been evolution. if there was evolution then there should have bones of how the human came from monkeys, monkeys which came from dinosaurs and yet theres no evidence. i find it very stupid for schools to teach theory of evolution or religion, they have no right in it because its my personal right of choice and i choose neither. and the reason many people feel sick of killing animals because they have been taught by those people who feel sick of animal cruelty. if you never learned it then you can kill without remorse. someone tries to attack my family im ready to kill to defend my family. i have no remorse for the attacker. so your saying a vegetarian cant be agressive. red meat doesnt control the person. unless you have a new product thats way better than meat, that taste like meat and produced easily and have people willing to do so, then all your typing is total waste of your time.
Reply:Yes but you are forgetting the fact that we have incisors and our front teeth are meant to bite and tear things. We are meant to be Omnivores.
Reply:If it wasn't for meat in our diet, humans probably wouldn't be where we are today. It is belived that moving from a diet higher in protein (derived from meat) is what lead us to grow bigger brains. Apes and chimpanzees live on a herbivore diet and they have too (like us) also have canine teeth and will eat meat if available to them!! Some animals are herbivores and some are carnivores - yet some are both. So stop trying to enforce your strict vegetarian views on us with stupid arguements!! Because it is not working!! People will always eat meat - and yes the way they are killed can often be inhumane - fight for more humane practices - not for people to stop eating meat altogether because it will never happen!!

By the way I don't really eat meat - not because I am vegetarian - but simply because I do not particularly like it!!
Reply:They were raised this way. It takes too much effort to change. Most people do not believe that meat is harmful. Instant gratification.
Reply:I think we eat meat because we can. That is the same reason why some people get upset about the food chain. People are meant to eat animals and vegetables. The reason why people do not have claws and razor teeth is because we don't need them.
Reply:I can't read all that.

We have fangs and digestive systems which can digest meat.

That's why we eat it.

Meat tastes nice.

That's why we eat it.

Do you wear leather shoes?

Do you have a PC and mobile phone with cobalt in them?
Reply:well monkeys eat meat, sometimes the babies of other monkeys.

your facts are just totally out of proportion, you should take into concideration that if you take someone out of a normal situation and show them a animal being slaughtered, obviously they are going to have a negative impact on them. thats not evolution! in third world countrys animals are slaughtered for food every day, it's jsut companies in other contrys have taken it away from us and thus made us have negative views about these things. if animal slaughter was put back and people had to do it them selves they would soon get used to it!

and as for your 'vegitarians', more farming land is taken up to produce food for you! and thus taking up more space, and making less habitats for animals.

I've had enough of this garbage! (joking) I'm out of hear!
Reply:Well the lovely thing about democracy is that people can make their own choices. I realise you feel very strongly about this, but it's your choice and not everyone elses. You are wrong that man is a herbivore -herbivores have a developed caecum for the digestion of cellulose, humans only have a vestigial appendix and are incapable of cellulose digestion, it passes undigested through the large intestine as fibre. Man is an omnivore and always has been. That is not to say that it is not possible to be perfectly healthy on a vegetarian diet, but it is not what our bodies were designed for. If you look at the large picture, rather than a little animal-friendly microcosm, you would realise that if meat wasn't eaten, then the vast majority of farmed animals would be utterly unnecessary, and can you imagine that the farmers who would have to resort solely to arable farming would waste valuable crop land on grazing animals they had no use for? What would you do with all the male cattle? How about the nice clean intelligent pigs? Also, as an animal lover, you undoubtedly have pets...what would you feed to your cats and dogs? Surely you wouldn't argue that they should become vegetarian too? Or would you have them foraging for their own food and ripping peoples pet rabbits and guinea pigs to pieces while they hunted in the evenings.

It's nice to be so passionate about an issue, but perhaps you should redirect your energy into animal welfare rather than issuing silly statements about people choosing to eat meat.
Reply:Eating meat may make you a better speller! If you do not want to eat meat, don't.
Reply:A friend of mine was telling me that we have canine teeth and that we get proteins from meat that we can't get from plants. I have been thinking about becoming a vegetarian for sometime. I don't eat a lot of meat, but I'm looking way get proteins into my body from some thing else. I'm still confused about it coz animals eat each other and we need some things from meat, but I don't like it because those animals are alive and moving around it just seems wrong sometimes to take their life away. I'm still thinking about it. I think I do want to become vegetarian in the future, still looking in to it.
Reply:For starters humans have three different types of teeth last time I checked - Classic makeup for an omnivore - which is what we are.

As for your "98% of people become physically ill in the presence of slaughter" remark, I've got one word - Surgeon!!

98% of people get ill when they see a human opened up on the table, but does that mean that we are not supposed to perform operations? The only reason some people can't stand the slaughter of an animal is because most people haven't had to do it for decades.

I agree with your opinion on factory farming methods but factory farming or no - Humans are omniverous creatures who are evolved to eat meat amongst other things.
Reply:You're lucky that your ancestors weren't as pathetically averted to killing to animals as you or the human race wouldn't be thriving as much as it is and you may not exist. Bloody hippy.
Reply:most people are not deep thinkers and they enjoy the meat i have eaten it all my life and will continue because i enjoy it
Reply:umm... because it tastes good (especially friend in Grease.. yum!)

By the way- you can also die from salmonella on your leafy veggies. But wait don't we ALL have to die someday? Or do vegetarians live forever? If so let me know and I JUST MAY become one!
Reply:A lettuce's life is as important to a lettuce as a cow's life is to a cow - grow up with this stupid argument about not wanting to hurt animals. Next time you pass a field of carrots just listen to the tears they are weeping because they are destined for some Vegan's mouth.
Reply:Spoken like a true vegetarian /vegan ....

God purposely put us at the top of the food chain , authorised us to eat meat %26amp; gave us dominion over all living things !

That's good enough for me !

You may well argue that we are not good stewards over all he gave us but as for the issue of eating meat ....go argue with him !
Reply:I didn't even bother to read all that drivel because the answer is simple: we can, and we like it.
Reply:I don't eat meat because I don't like the taste but I feel I need to eat some meat to get some protain.
Reply:yum meat good.
Reply:My father was brought up in a very rural community. I learned from him that animals were there to be respected and treated fairly, but were only animals. They were there to be used to work on the farm and provide food.

That has been how animals have been looked apon for generations.

It is now we are a country of city dwellers and tend to look apon animals in a different light!
Reply:a short answer to your lengthy question.

We eat meat because its tasty.
Reply:I dont know why people still eat meat. It sickens me. I am a vegetarian thinking about becoming a vegan because I just cant stand what they do to animals, and the fact that I do not want to eat the burnt flesh of another creature. It makes me feel like a cannibal. Its just sick the way animals (Livestock) are treated so that Americans can have their meat.
