Is pale the new tan?

Seriously.

It seems like Hollywood and the modeling industry are paying more attention to girls with really pale skin (Nicole Kidman, Scarlett Johansson etc.) as opposed to overly tan looks of the past (Xtina circa 2001, Tara Reid).

Do you think pale is the new tan?

Why or why not?

Would you rather be pale and doll-like (like Scarlett and Kidman) or really orange tanned?

Is pale the new tan?
We can only hope. I've always considered pale girls and women to be more attractive. Especially Scarlett Johansson.

Why do I think so? It just looks better.
Reply:i rather be pale than orange. who wants to be orange? that's hideous. i actually think pale is really pretty. and in some cultures pale is seen as beautiful, unlike here where everyone wants to be tan. tan can be beautiful too, don't get me wrong, but i think really light skin can be just as gorgeous.
Reply:Eww pale is never attractive.
Reply:Considering the fact that tan=cancer (unless you use fake tan stuff, which may be worse than having cancer), pale is definitely a better alternative.
Reply:I'd rather be pale than orange. xD

But the best kind of tan, in my opinion, is a dusty light brown coloured tan.
Reply:Pale is not the new tan. Why? Because it never will be.

I am pale, so I'd prefer that over orange. Or tanned in any way, actually.
Reply:Pale people are prettier than people who have a fake tan and look orange.

If your skin's a natural tan colour, then it looks good.

But not an actual tan, in my opinion they look too fake.

:)

But too pale you look sick.
Reply:I think so because I see way more plae people then then tan. I think it's beucase it's winter. :S
Reply:i hope not, because i`m naturally dark butter pecan complected and then i`d be pretty much screwed.

i don`t think that there should be anything "in".

i think people should stick to their natural color, or just a bit more pale or a bit more tan.

people shouldn`t avoid sunlight like the plague to be pale and people should lay outside in the sun for hours to be tan.
Reply:I think more people are embracing the fact they're pale, but being darker is still seen as attractive, at least where I am.

I'm like the palest person I know, when compared to other people who don't go tanning. It kind of sucks. People think I'm sickly and stuff sometimes. I've never been complimented on my skintone or anything.

So if tanning didn't = future cancer, I'd be all over it.
Reply:No. Tanning is in for at least another 2 years, a nice healthy glow not too pale but definitely not orange, orange is not hot but being too pale can make you look sickly.
