Do you believe that sunscreen protects you against cancer or does it cause cancer?

Ok, here it goes guys. The sunscreen industry makes money by selling lotion products that actually contain cancer-causing chemicals. It then donates a portion of that money to the cancer industry through non-profit groups like the American Cancer Society which, in turn, run heart-breaking public service ads urging people to use sunscreen to "prevent cancer."

The scientific evidence, however, shows quite clearly that sunscreen actually promotes cancer by blocking the body's absorption of ultraviolet radiation, which produces vitamin D in the skin. Vitamin D, as recent studies have shown, prevents up to 77 of ALL cancers in women (breast cancer, colon cancer, cervical cancer, lung cancer, brain tumors, multiple myeloma... you name it). Meanwhile, the toxic chemical ingredients used in most sunscreen products are actually carcinogenic and have never been safety tested or safety approved by the FDA.

What do you think?

Do you believe that sunscreen protects you against cancer or does it cause cancer?
I know Rex !! I'm with you buddy, but it's a veritable minefield out there mate. They write a hieroglyphic version of the nasty sludge contained therein in minuscule print on the back of the bottle or tube and even if you can pronounce it or better still know what it is many people take on board the usual dribble they spout that it's in such minuscule amounts that no harm will be done ~ how many situations can you apply that statement to hey??!! It's about time people simply started to think for themselves and not follow big industry marketing like a bunch of mindless little lambs trailing off to the slaughter in my opinion.

♥you can actually buy herbal varieties of sunscreen , i simply avoid prolonged exposure and peak sun times during the day and cover up properly with a decent hat (like my hat??!!) and loose protective clothing............ geez, i don't want to get wrinkly and dry before i have to♥

Perphaps everybody needs to just a use a lot more sun sense and cover up, wear a hat and avoid the cruel and harsh rays of the midday sun !! So ridiculous you know, when i was a teenager in high school ............. ooooh, all those years ago ............... i got picked on mercilessly for my olive skin and wild dark curly hair!! These days, people are literally dying to get the same color skin and are racing off to the hairdresser eager to pump toxic sludge into their hair to perm it !! makes utterly no sense to me .............. totally brainless i reckon.

What's with people's obsession for the ultimate tan anyways?? whatever happened to that rosy glow of health and vitality anyways!!

Saddest part is that you really can't tell people, they have to learn for themselves............. all we can is just keep swinging our banners buddy.

good health to you %26amp; yours mate♥

CHEERS

Reply:No worries !!

CHEERS Report It

Reply:Oh, forgot to add something .......... did you know that after a suntan is established, vitamin ~ D production through the skin stops??!! Soooooo, its only the feel good factor you get from the sun after that i guess... :0) Report It

Reply:Conspiracy. . .but sunscreen does help prevent cancer, there are many sources saying so and I've even done an experiment testing it. ..
Reply:ya i think sun can cause a cancer
Reply:OK, I can see your point. BUT if you see someone die of melanoma you change your mind!! It is a horrible condition, and the human body can make all the vitamin D it needs in just 10 minutes of sun exposure. It has also resently been found that vitamin D helps to prevent heart attack and also rickets, so people have to be sensible. Caking yourself constantly in total sunblock obviously isn't a great idea, but you have to stop yourself from burning, it is burning the skin that causes melanoma. If you know you are going to be out all day, you could take a vitamin D tablet and slap on the sunscreen, honestly, you don't want melanoma, my dad died of that and it is horrible. There is no treatment, other than surgery and you end up with cancer all over your body as it travels through the lymph system. He died slowly in terrible pain. So I say, slap on the sunscreen if you are going out in the sun, take a vitamin D supliment, and try to get your 10 minutes everyday if you can, let the rest take care of it's self.
Reply:if you use the right SPF then it would be ok. But if you use more than what you want then the problem will start since higher SPF will not release the UV absorbed from the sun since sunscreen can't block the UV 100%.
Reply:The sun causes cancer in some people with prolonged exposure. Sun screen protects you against this. The big hole in your conspiracy theory is that there was sun screen to prevent burns before there was the claim that it helped with preventing cancer.

If all the arguments about the sun causing skin cancer were true, then why is it that the further you get from the equator the higher the incidence rate of skin cancer.
