Does anyone else find people who tan unattractive?

I can't stand white girls who tan. 1) the fashion industry hypes that it is the trend but it does not look good just really fake and 2) it causes skin cancer. But I guess this does not matter with the soon to be premature aging and eventual leatherface that also goes with it.

Seriously spending money to have your skin tanned is retarded and proves how dumb and insecure these people really are. On a related note I wouldn't mind opening up a tanning business and taking some serious money off these mindless sheep.

Does anyone else find people who tan unattractive?
I have fair skin. it is not unhealthy at all, and i dont need "a little color."

What is unhealthy is continuously tanning. A person does not need "a little color" if they have healthy skin, tan or not
Reply:I agree it's f'n disgusting.
Reply:get a life and pay attention to your own life
Reply:I tanned this past summer, but didn't get to the point where it was too much. Mainly because I started to feel almost sick to my stomach that I was putting myself at such great risk for melanoma. But in all honesty, I really like the way I look tan better than when I'm not tan.
Reply:I think spending money to gt tanned is ridiculous. Girls in ym HIGH SCHOOL do it....at such a young age! It's sooo bad for your skin and it can look super fake if you overdo even jsut a little. I dono why it's so popular, half the time it turns out too dark/orange, and it costs a heck of a lot of money. I'm never going to a tanning salon in my life!!!
Reply:god i can't stand those rich tanned paris hilton type white girls. It's the most selfish unattractive thing to me.
Reply:If its over the top, yeah it looks pretty trashy. But fish belly white is gross.
Reply:I prefer pale skin
Reply:While I agree with the skin cancer thing and certainly that some people over do it. I think it's a personal preference as to what you want to look like. I think it looks good on some people but others just look like they are wearing a full body leather suit. Maybe you would make a far better profit if you become a dermatologist to help with the skin cancer after the tanning.
Reply:i dont tan. cause i cant get any darker! girls who do that spray tan is disgusting! over the weekend they are like" hey girl look how dark i got over the weekend! i love my new tan!" newsflash b*tch! you look like a f'n oompa-loompa. then they tell me im jealous. hey id rather be as white as paper than orange like a b*tch.

and guys who tan, lets just say...GAY!

love lis! :)
Reply:Are you serious? So when a white woman goes out into the sun to enjoy the outdoors of; lets say a beach or a nice hike...we should coat ourselves in SPF 500??? I don't think so, if it wasn't natural to get a tan from the melatonin in your skin...then God would not have made it possible!
Reply:No I have to say that I only partially agree with you. Being pale white it disgusting and it looks unhealthy. People should have a little bit of color on them. But I do think that OVER tanning is unattractive. I've been tanning in the summer months for two years now and I've seen women who are TOO dark that it just looks very unnatural, and that's not what we're going for. I think that people should get some color on their skin and then stop going tanning. Quitting while you're ahead is winning the game. ; )
Reply:I think getting tan, unaturally, is tacky
Reply:While I don't share you negativity, I agree to a point. And that point is where the girls stop looking healthy and naturally tan, and start to look fake.

A little bit of color is enough to give that glow, and slim your body.

Going too dark looks fake, and often orange on many women with pale skin.

The health and beauty reasons you listed as a negative result from sun exposure are true, that's why most women use some form of self tanner, i.e. spray on, a creme, airbrushing, etc...

As for it being dumb and/or insecure, I don't see how tanning is any different than hair dye, makeup, nail polish, or any other way women use to look and feel better about themselves.
Reply:I couldn't agree more! I come from CT where that's all the girls EVER do. I think it's rediculous that they're actually paying for some sun. The rays from a salon are more harmful since they're not natural and the sun emits Vitamin D which helps in the preventing of colon cancer, and the tanning salons do not.

You can laugh when those girls that went to tanning salons all their life have trouble crapping because of not going out in the sun instead. And I think taking advantage of them would be awesome! They deserve it. If they have enough money to do that a few times a week and drive around in their fancy cars...then you should reap the benefits of getting all their money :-)
Reply:i agree. its kind of funny how white people always talk about the darker skinned ones, and they they go and try to make THEIR SKIN DARKER AND LESS PALE.....hmmmm.....
Reply:On the one hand I agree with you, because I am victim of tanning myself. As a naive and insecure teenager, I used sunbeds obsessively. It was actually a real addiction, as I have OCD and also issues with my body image. I deeply regret it now, but since the age of 17, I have taken amazing care of my skin, so I am hoping it will pay off in the long run.

Everytime I see a new tanning salon open, I just want to boycott it. It makes me angry, because of the troubles I have had since using sunbeds. My life has literally been turned upside down because of sunbeds and I don't want it to happen to anyone else.

But, I didn't think your comment about exploiting these young, insecure girls was very amusing. If you truly cared, you would not have made that end comment and I have to say I was a bit sickened by it. Sorry, but it was distasteful. If you want to help, then spread the word and raise awareness, but don't be a prick about it.

You don't understand the pressures on young girls today and that they will do just about anything to feel accepted by society. Teenagers always believe they are immortal, they don't even consider that cancer will affect them, they think they are immune. If you want to blame anyone, blame the media and the flawless images portrayed, that show thin, tanned women. And when girls that are as young as 4 and 5 see these images, it is already starting to be ingrained into their heads, that this is how they should look to be acceptable. Tell me what is wrong with this picture......

Take care : )
