In a biased society ( the lighter the better), do you think dark-skinned people are beautiful?

When it comes to the beauty industry?





I do.


My immediate family consists of various skin tones, from what people call "high yellow" to "dark chocolate".





I personally have no color preference, but society do make it seem that the brighter you are, the more desirable you are.





I personally am medium brown, pecan brown to be exact.





I love my brown skin.


My grandfather was "high yellow".


My grandmother was dark as dark can be.





A lot of people would say: She's a beautiful dark-skinned woman, as if she's an exception to being dark-skinned.





I am wondering how many people out there think that dark-skinned people are beautiful.

i love rich brown skin. there are some people with the most beautiful dark skin. i am a very pale caucasian woman and hate it

Reply:Anyone can be beautiful. A lot of times, I even wish I had darker skin like everyone else in my family. I'm the only one without dark hair and skin and brown eyes. But of course different people like different things.
Reply:My people adopted a lot of children that were left behind by the French army in Southeast Asia.





A lot of them are black French soldiers.





I never consider them black once!





When we first came to the United State (Sheboygan) they used to get beat up and called ******** because of their skin color.





I used to pick on them too until we turn 18. I stop growing while they kept growing. They know karate too!!!!

Reply:I know that some other people would mention a beautiful woman, with white skin and rosy cheeks. So a dark-skinned beautiful woman is not an exception to being dark-skinned.





Dark-skinned people are beautiful. Light-skinned people are beautiful. Any decent person is beautiful.
Reply:As far as the beauty industry goes---it depends on the product. Sometime a beatiful, dark-skinned model is the only one who can pull off a "look"--bright makeup, bald head, or a crisp white shirt. Sometimes the product calls for a long-haired, pale-skinned model. As long as the bone structure is good and the body is fit the skin tone is no matter!
Reply:there are some that caught my eye. they are dark skinned and beautiful. but regardless of the skin , its the chemistry that counts the most. physical attraction comes first but it still comes down to mutual feelings that makes it last.
Reply:Yes it's beautiful. But you don't need everyone in the world to tell you that.
Reply:If you're beautiful, you're beautiful. Not every dark-skinned woman is beautiful of course, nor is every light-skinned woman, or any other woman at that.





But anyway, yes, dark-skinned women are beautiful. =)
Reply:Being a dark-skinned black woman, I can totally relate to you. My "best friend" is light skinned and I've noticed that she seemed "surprised" to see a pretty dark skinned woman! It's that way with a lot of TV also. Like hip hop or r%26amp;b videos. You hardly see any dark -skinned women. Lots of people, and to make it worst black people only think that light skinned people are pretty, but I say the heck with them because I love my DARK skin.
Reply:Yes I think dark people are beautiful, I like all kinds of men but I like the black dark skinned men the most. I also think that Gabrielle Union is a very pretty darkskinned woman... I think I might be the only black person who actually likes to stay out in the sun in the summer to get darker lol
Reply:i think dark women are beautiful ...your biased society is part of your own race also... i was married to a dark skinned woman for ten years and was amazed to find that blacks are biased within their own race ... straight hair was "good" hair, lighter was "better".. things like that... even on tv.. if the man is "dark" the woman will be light skinned... color is a stupid thing to like or dislike about ... but my personal opinion is dark skinned black women are extremely sexy
