How does the fur industry kill animals like minks, foxes, etc. before they are skinned?

I was wondering what methods are employed by the fur industry to kill the animals before they are skinned for their fur.

I am pretty sure they would use gas or lethal injection, which would be humane and relatively painless. Just wondering if anybody knew.

There are a lot of people who have condemned the fur industry's treatment of animals, but I generally don't trust people from organizations like PETA.

How does the fur industry kill animals like minks, foxes, etc. before they are skinned?
My buddy who has a mink farm uses carbon monoxide from the exhaust of a farm tractor that goes through ice to cool it before the minks even breath it. Anybody who subscribes to PETA's nonsense, is just a very gullible person. PETA just preys on many peoples emotions to weaken them into giving money, it is all about money.
Reply:I actually think that they are gassed. Years back it was shown on a TV program that minks were pushed into what looked like jam jars, with a tube at the other end to allow the gas in.

Whilst PETA may be a little extreame, a lot of what they show is the truth.
Reply:they also use electricity, they electrocute them. very painful indeed.

not all farms use gas.
Reply:They only use animals that died from natural causes.
Reply:Does it really matter? That's like asking how does KFC kill their chickens before they reach their restaurants. Who cares????
Reply:i am not from PETA or anything, and i'm not a lunatic animal rights person, but:

i do know that a lot of the animals are not even killed before they are skinned- basically, they are skinned alive, and then left in a bloody heap to die.

i don't want to upset anyone by this, but i just want you to think.

i eat meat and stuff, but i have land, and i only eat meat that i have killed myself- like with a shotgun. if you shoot something in the head it is dead before it can register the pain- so it doesn't feel pain at all! i never eat meat bought from stores.

people will always wear fur and eat meat, this cannot be stopped and i am not even trying to make it stop - i just think it could be done more humanely.

god bless
